Meet Chris Lathbury

I began my career in mortgage lending in 2006 and, in 2017, expanded my focus to private lending across a broader range of residential and investment financing opportunities. Based in Charleston, South Carolina—where I was born and raised—my work is grounded in a deep understanding of the local market, its people, and the unique opportunities and challenges they face.

After graduating from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, I returned home and built a career centered on helping borrowers navigate the financing process and achieve their real estate goals. That early experience continues to shape how I approach every transaction today.

My background in technical sales prior to entering the lending industry has been a valuable asset, allowing me to communicate clearly, structure creative financing solutions, and tailor lending options to a wide variety of financial situations and investment objectives.

I have been married to my wife, Carla, since 1994—a relationship that began when we were in sixth grade together. We are proud parents of our daughter, Sofia, a graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

Outside of work, I enjoy woodworking, boating, and fishing, and I spend much of my free time with family and close friends.
